The 2026 Kind Word Dollar
Marking September 24, 2026 — the day Suri gave Sawyer a compliment
Design Narrative
The obverse shows Suri and Sawyer in facing portrait busts, the classical way two figures share a coin. A speech bubble carrying a single sparkle (the compliment) rises from Suri, and small rays beam out behind Sawyer. Their names are cut into each bust. Above is LIBERTY, and below the line is the program motto, IN KIND WORDS WE TRUST.
The reverse circles the date with a laurel wreath, the traditional sign of honor, tied by a ribbon reading SURI TO SAWYER. The Latin motto E VERBO BENIGNO means “from a kind word” and takes the place of E Pluribus Unum. The value along the bottom is ONE COMPLIMENT.
The coin is a proof strike: frosted, raised design against a mirror-polished background. The “S” mint mark stands for the San Francisco Mint, and also for Suri and Sawyer.
